Noakhali  : In a significant development, Anwarul Haque Kamal (65). President of Sonaimuri Upazila BNP and former Chairman of Upazila Parishad in Noakhali, has been arrested. The District Detective Police (DB) apprehended Kamal on Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m. from the court area in the town of Maijdi.

Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonaimuri police station, confirmed the news and disclosed that five cases are pending against the arrested individual. Acting upon secret information, he was arrested by the District Intelligence Police (DB). Kamal will be presented before the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court at around 4:30 p.m. on the same day.

Advocate Abdur Rahman, the General Secretary of Noakhali District BNP, raised concerns regarding the ongoing mass arrests in Noakhali for achieving political motives.
